For 95% of the population we will always be in a "Just over Broke" position. That's a job. Making someone else's family wealthy but not our own. I can show you how to climb out of that rut. I have been in the same position as many of you.

I am a licensed massage therapist living in a low income area and I am interested in starting a massage and wellness center. This has proven to be quite difficult although I have tried for several months to find funding. I have poor-fair credit stemming from difficulties I had in 1999 & 2000. I have lived in my current apartment for 5 years and would like to buy a home in this neighborhood (though credit is an issue there as well). I have never been late paying my $710.00 rent and am a very responsible parent of three children between the ages of 10 & 14. Please, any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I am a mother of three who is an at home mom. My family has some really bad debt. I am looking for grants that can get me out of this debt so that I can have a clean slate to make things better for my family. I would also like to start my own business selling candles. I'm hoping to be able to have my own store one day. So I am also looking for grant money to help me achieve this goal. At the moment we live in a home that costs a lot to live in. We want to be able to sell this place and buy a home that we can better afford. I would love a grant to help me buy a home that would better suit our needs financially. I just want to be financially independent, but I really need the help to do so. I feel like no matter what i do it doesn't work. I just need that boost to get me going.

I am looking to find grant funds to start a small business. For the last year I have been plating metal as a hobby and have had great success with it. Currently I am under the interest of contractors looking for this service but do not have the capacity to handle the load they are asking. With the grant funds I would expand my current garage desk sized operation to a full business and be able to take on an employee offering someone in the area a job. Perhaps two. I do not want to go the route of a business loan as I would rather invest in an employee rather than a bank.
Thank you.

My name is Melvin Faber and my father's business has been in New Orleans for 35 years (Malcolm Faber Trophies on Airline in New Orleans). He passed away one month after the hurricane and left me the business. We did not have flood insurance and had over 9 feet of water, so the insurance company only covered anything above 9 feet. A tornado took down the rest. I tried to get an SBA loan and was denied; I appealed it and still was denied. I have been using my inheritance money to rebuild my family's award business and I am in desperate need of help to finish rebuilding. Please contact me at your earliest convenience should you be able to direct me to the proper channels for a Grant Program in Louisiana for Small Businesses. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Please don't brush over take a second to look at the possibilies. This commodity will benefit other states as well as todays market. This commodity has crashed overseas. First of all its going to depend on how much money will be needed to buy the store. There are grants to help start a business but you're talking about a business that already exists. Most basic start-up grants award $20-$50K. There are a few grant programs that award amounts of $100,000 or more and there is even one that awards $500K!
so depending on how much it will cost - those are the kind of grant programs that you should be looking for.
to the 2nd person that was looking for grants/loans with a 90-day grace period, these grant programs specifically state about their specifics including the loan repayment terms.
And unfortunately no matter how great you think your business will be you still have to convince the grant committee of that.
I recently added to my files about venture capitalists and thre are lists of them available online but the one thing that they have said is that they turn down many business ideas simply because of the poor paperwork that was submitted!

I am a local to Biloxi MS where Katrina destroyed so much. Unfortunately many busniess owners have not rebuilt and so in order to get many things we need/want we must travel to Alabama or Louisiana. I love to sew and hope to start an heirloom sewing store here in Biloxi MS. I was recently informed that Wal-Mart is even trying to get rid of the fabric section in its stores. This reduces the available places to get fabric to two and heirloom fabrics, trims, laces and sewing machines are just not available here. Thanks.

Generally speaking grants are not provided for you to buy into a franchise. They are for people that want to start their own (non-franchised) business.
Now of course there is an exception to every rule which means you would have to look into the more "unusual-type" grant programs such as those that honor the individual and not the endeavor.
